Their aggressive expansion plans have made them the largest independent retailer of mobile communications in Europe. They are now in 12 countries and have over 1,085 stores.
The Telecoms Services division
of Carphone Warehouse has progressed significantly in the last year with an
increase in revenue of 267% from £11.5m to £42.2m and contribution
of 132% from £7.0m to £16.1m. These results clearly demonstrate
our success in generating telecoms revenue beyond the point of sale. It is also
reflective of our ability to develop the facilities management businesses that
we acquired from Cellcom Ltd in June 2000 and CMC in May 2001. In the future
they will be looking to expand this business model across Europe.
